Jane Coyle is an award-winning writer, arts journalist and critic, who has worked across print and broadcast media platforms in the UK, Ireland and Europe. Jane has written three feature-length screenplays and five stage plays and is co-librettist for the opera adaptation of her play The Suitcase. The suitcase became her inspiration for the Farm Girl monologue which tells the story of a girl growing up during WW2 and the horrors of the concentration camps. A monologue which she has performed around much of Europe and Great Britain. This performance was made here in Ljubliana and was arranged by the British Embassy.

Meet Mel Hitchcocks, an Englishwoman running a school in Slovenia. Mel is the principal of the British International School of Ljubljana. After living in Egypt, Mongolia, and Russia, Mel shares the challenges of adapting to new locations. She says she's happy to be in Slovenia now. Mel Hitchcocks has only been in her role as Principal of the British International School of Ljubljana for a few months but has already settled in and understands what she can bring to a school that already has a great reputation. Her previous experiences have taken her from the UK to Egypt, Mongolia and most recently Russia so she has a very broad view of the world of teaching. Some very interesting and important areas of education are expressed in this conversation.
Production of the first circulating British coins featuring an image of King Charles III began at the Royal Mint facilities in Wales last week. The first coin bearing a portrait of King Charles is a memorial 50 pence honouring Queen Elizabeth II, which will go into public circulation in December.
