Testing a 2-day offer ''Destination Jeruzalem Slovenija – The Holy Place'', coordinated by Javni zavod za turizem, kulturo in šport Občine Ormož, were ABIGAIL from the Philippines and her Slovenian husband BLAŽ KAPUN. They visited Jeruzalem and Ormož with its hilly surroundings, known for its high-quality wines, among other things! Our scouting couple had quite a few stops to make during their visit to the area, in order to experience the real beauty this place has to offer!
This show illustrates the issues in setting-up and operating a typical small dairy farm based towards the north eastern side of the country. It’s organic, offering goat’s and cow’s milk products and is run by an American along with his Slovene wife and family. When Ron Metz decided to start the project Sirana Metz, he could not have imagined the issues that would arise. Although he says things are different here to America he has very few complaints except perhaps there are too many different offices to organise the paperwork! If does have issues it’s with the hailstones which set the whole operation back some years when he not only lost much fruit and other plants it also affected the grazing for his animals. That said he is happy with all of the support he has had particularly from the local veterinary institute point of view who he says have been helpful and offered clear advice and approval for all the things he is doing.
Businesses must first go back to their beginnings and ask themselves why they ever even started, in the first place. Are they on the market to serve people or just to make as much money as possible? If you find yourself selling just to make money, you will be in trouble. Wes’ words, not mine.
