Dobrodošli v Second hand. Danes si bomo ogledali ozadje pesmi »Love Is Like« od Maroon 5 z Lil Waynom. Pesem prihaja z osmega albuma skupine z istim imenom. Navdihnjen z ustvarjalnim procesom njihovih prejšnjih del, je frontman Levine želel, da bi pisanje pesmi potekalo interno, kot del kolektiva, v nasprotju z nedavnimi studijskimi albumi, kjer bi zunanji pisci ustvarjali demo posnetke, ki jih je skupina kasneje razvijala. Zaradi produkcije, ki temelji na semplih, je bil označen kot pop, R&B in hip-hop album z izrazitimi vplivi soula, funka in new wava. Vendar je album prejel večinoma negativne kritike. Na agregatorju ocen Metacritic je album prejel oceno 50 od 100, kar pomeni "mešane ali povprečne ocene". To je njihov prvi studijski album, ki se ni uvrstil med deset najboljših. Za pesem »Love Is Like« so Maroon 5 povabili Lil Wayna, ki ga pogosto smatrajo za enega najvplivnejših hip hop izvajalcev svoje generacije in enega največjih raperjev vseh časov, v upanju, da bo uspešnica. Uporabili so tudi sempl iz pesmi »Silly, Wasn't I« Valerie Simpson iz leta 1972. Valerie je članica Ashford & Simpson, ameriškega zakonskega dua, ki pišeta pesmi, producirata in snemata, skupaj z Nickolasom Ashfordom. Duo je imel v bistvu dve karieri: eno kot uspešna ekipa pisateljev in producentov ter drugo kot pevcev in izvajalcev. Ko sta se leta 1966 pridružila ekipi Motown, sta Ashford in Simpson sodelovala z vokalnim duetom Marvin Gaye in Tammi Terrell ter zanje napisala in/ali producirala številne velike uspešnice. Kasneje sta napisala in producirala skoraj vse pesmi za tri albume nekdanje članice Supreme, Diane Ross, vključno z njenim prvim solo albumom Diana Ross. Uspešno pisanje uspešnic za številne druge izvajalce Motowna se je nadaljevalo in duo je bil leta 2002 sprejet v Dvorano slavnih tekstopiscev. Simpson je nato za Motown posnela dve solo plošči, med katerima je bil tudi singel "Silly, Wasn't I". Leta 1973 sta zapustila Motown in se po nadaljevanju kariere dueta poročila. Njuna najbolj znana dueta sta "Solid" in "Found a Cure".
