On Wednesday evening, Germany defeated Slovenia 99 to 91 in the EuroBasket quarter-finals in Latvia's Riga. Slovenia held the lead for most of the game, however Germany outscored them in the final quarter to secure the win.
Slovenia will co-host the 2029 Eurobasket along with Spain, Greece, and Estonia. Meanwhile, the head of the Slovenian Basketball Association, Matej Erjavec, confirmed that Luka Dončić will play for Slovenia at the 2025 Eurobasket, starting at the end of August in Poland. Photo: Reuters
Slovenia's national basketball team successfully qualified for the next EuroBasket, which will be held between the 27th of August and the 14th of September. In the last couple of matches Slovenia introduced a number of new young faces in the team, and analysts say the next European basketball championship might be the last big tournament for a number of key players who are expected to retire from international basketball after this year's EuroBasket.
