In this conversation you will find a host of information, not just of the horticulture but even the distant archaeological aspects of this fascinating region.

We talk to Assistant Professor Marius Mensah, Ph. from the Law Faculty at the University of Maribor, who heads an EU Commission funded Jean Monnet Module for research into sustainability and cultural heritage. We touch on the topics of sustainable development, local entrepreneurship and green economy. We learn that teaching the young about heritage triggers sustainable tourism and empowers local municipalities, which leads to green economy practices in the local business environment. * The show was prepared with the financial support of the European Commission within the framework of the On A Mission - Young Cohesion project. Five years ago, Can embarked on an Erasmus exchange to Ljubljana, where he spent a semester. Now, as a PhD student, he's opted for a change of scenery, diving into the academic environment of Maribor. In this episode, discover Can's impressions of Styria's capital, learn about the most frequent question Slovenians posed to him during his previous stint, and delve into Anatolian rock music—what it is and how it sounds like. Can’s music piece of choice is Cemalim by Erkin Koray.

Today Paul lives in the village of Ribno near Bled, together with his wife Abhaya, who comes from Taiwan. They love Slovenia's nature, fresh air, rivers and lakes. He says he'd like to see Slovenians be more connected, more vocal in protecting their environment, and lead more fulfilling lives... We recently heard optimistic words from Janez Potočnik speaking at the recent Forum for Food and Agriculture. In spite of rarely being in Slovenia these days I was greatly honoured to be offered time to discus food and other environment issues just a few weeks ago. His environmental role as European Commissioner for the Environment was one that he really wanted as it allowed him an opportunity to advance many ideas for the future. Don't miss this valuable conversation about how we should all behave to ensure our future.
Henkel Maribor has been operating for 30 years and has significant experience in operating in Slovenia. As one of three major factories in Europe Maribor produces cosmetics, face and skin creams and hair products. Meet Hana, a student of Sustainable Built Environments at the Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies at the University of Primorska. Every time she returns to the Czech Republic for a visit, she says she is surprised by the prices. While she’s studying in Koper, bit by bit, they keep getting higher. Nevertheless, with the exception of Prague, which is more expensive, she says prices are still relatively comparable to those in Slovenia. Her music choice was Natural by Imagine Dragons.
