Amandine from France studies agriculture at the University of Maribor. In the future she would like to work in the field of environmental protection. She chose Maribor because of its size, surroundings and nature. She runs by the Drava river and goes swimming at the local swimming pool. Amandine's first challenge here was learning how to get from Maribor to the Faculty of Agriculture, which is located in nearby Hoče. It was in Maribor that Amandine experienced sharing a room with another student for the first time, and she was surprised to find out that Slovenians, in contrast to the French, eat all day long :) Amandine chose to play the song "Quand je marche" by Ben Mazué.
Today we're at the theatre talking to a Macedonian theatre and film director who has been living in Slovenia for 6 years now. Meet Aleksandar Popovski, the Artistic Director at the Drama SNG Maribor. He calls theatre his home and a special place in which he can create other versions of the world. He praises Slovenia's audience noting its fine taste for theatre, opera, ballet, and arts in general. Having worked in around 15 countries so far, he says it's nice to work in Slovenia where everyone behaves like a professional. He also loves the relationship between people and nature in Slovenia.
