On Wednesday, a jury in New Mexico has ordered Meta to pay 375 million dollars, after finding the company violated consumer protection laws by misleading users about safety and enabling harm to children, including exposure to sexual exploitation. A day later, in California, another jury found Meta and YouTube responsible for designing products that encourage prolonged use among minors, without adequate safeguards.
