Today marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, and the Speaker of the National Assembly, Urška Klakočar Zupančič, used the occasion to deliver a stark reminder of the challenges facing Europe and the world today. In her message, she emphasized the importance of peace, security, and prosperity, warning that the current global climate may be more difficult than ever before. She condemned the horrors of war, pointing out that while wars bring suffering and loss, it is only the war profiteers who gain. Klakočar Zupančič also called for continued unity in Europe, urging nations to work together to safeguard peace, foster economic development, and ensure the well-being of all citizens.
