Former US President Donald Trump is the winner of the US presidential elections. He won more than the needed 270 electoral votes, achieving a convincing win over his opponent Kamala Harris. Accompanied by his Slovene wife, Melania, he promised a golden age for America. He also said he would put a stop to the ongoing wars.
World leaders, including Slovenia’s President Pirc Musar, have already sent their congratulations to Mr. Trump.

Meanwhile businesses in Slovenia and the EU have expressed concern about the possible introduction of tarrifs on the imports of EU products. The Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry warned against possible excessive US protectionism and the moving of production from Europe to the US.
In the past 12 months Slovenia directly exported around EUR 900 million worth of goods to the US - 27% more than three years ago.
