The Tour of Slovenia cycling race starts today and will run until Sunday.
It will feature five stages in total. Today's 168.7-km stage will start in Piran and end in Škofljica near Ljubljana. The head of the race, Bogdan Fink, said it was important for the race to be held in June, between the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France, in a month that is also the greenest in Slovenia.
The other stages will see cyclists race from Velenje to Rogaška Slatina, Majšperk to Ormož, Maribor to Mt. Golte, and the final stage from Litija to Novo Mesto.
Coverage throughout the five-day event will be provided by RTV Slovenija and Eurosport.
