Avšič Županc was honoured for her contributions to medical virology, while Pisanski was recognised for his work in discrete mathematics.
The Puh Prize for lifetime achievement in innovation went to pharmaceutical researcher Franc Vrečer, a long-time Krka scientist and professor at the Ljubljana Faculty of Pharmacy.
The prizes will be presented on 9 November, the eve of National Science Day. The awards honour Slovenia’s leading figures in science and innovation.
