The protest was prompted by Ljubljana mayor Zoran Janković's public statement of support for Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. Vučić as well as the whole Serbian government have been under pressure since a railway station roof collapse in Novi Sad on the 1st of November last year killed 15 people. The Slovenian protesters have 4 demands which include Janković’s apology to the citizens of Serbia as well as to the citizens of Ljubljana, as well as a demand that he should show support for the Serbian students. The protesters have threatened to increase the pressure next week if their demands are not met.
