The leaders are expected to discuss bilateral relations and key international issues, including the war in Ukraine, EU enlargement and EU–US relations.
According to the President’s Office, this will be Pirc Musar’s farewell visit to Steinmeier ahead of the end of his term next March. The visit forms part of regular political dialogue between Slovenia and Germany, close economic partners. Talks will also focus on strengthening political and economic cooperation and implementing the 2025–2028 action plan agreed by the two countries. Broader discussions will cover the Western Balkans, developments in the Middle East and transatlantic relations.
