Slovenia plans to substantially raise defence spending to hit NATO's 2% of GDP target this year. This is several years ahead of schedule.
Spending was originally supposed to hit 1.5% of GDP in 2025.
The new security and defence policy hopes to strengthen the armed forces but will also include investments into dual-use infrastructure, R&D and cybersecurity.
