Slovenia is taking over as UN Security Council chair today. It will head the Security Council for one month. When the time ends, Slovenia’s two-year time on the council as a non-permanent member will also end.
The country’s focus will be on the search for a new secretary general.
On January 1, Slovenia's non-permanent seat on the Security Council will go to Latvia.
