Slovenia Beat Italy to Reach Eurobasket Quarterfinals

Slovenia beat Italy in the Last 16 of the Eurobasket championships in Riga. The final score after a tense final quarter in the Latvian capital was 84 points to 77.

NBA star Luka Dončič was the top scorer with 42 points. Slovenia led after each quarter but the tension was palpable in the last few minutes as Italy closed the gap to just one point at one stage, when the scores were 78-77 in Slovenia's favour.

They will now face Germany in the quarterfinals, also in Riga, on Wednesday. The German team comfortably beat Portugal earlier by 85 points to 58.
