Slovenia's basketball team wrapped up the 2027 World Cup qualifying window with two wins against the Czech Republic.
After Slovenia's convincing 40-point win in Koper on Friday, last night's away match in the Czech Republic was much more close. The young Slovenian team, playing without its NBA star Luka Dončić, was down 19 points at halftime, but managed to win in the end after an excellent second half. Team captain Klemen Prepelič, who was the top scorer with 20 points, said he was proud of the team's performance. Among the top scorers were also the young Žiga Samar with 15, and Urban Krofljič with 14 points.
Slovenia plays it's next two matches against Estonia and Sweden in July.
