Public broadcaster RTV Slovenija held a press-conference today warning of its dire financial situation, also demanding an answer from the government of when it plans to deliver its promised funding for minority programs.
RTV Slovenija said it will end the year with a deficit of around 6 million euros, unless additional funding is provided. RTV Council Chairman, Goran Forbici, said the recent rise in the RTV license fee is being used to cover the pay increase from the government public sector wage reform. Back in December, the government promised to provide co-funding for programs for ethnic minorities, but the timing of the full payout is not yet clear.
