Officials say Slovenia’s fuel supplies are secure and that we should not expect supply issues. This was confirmed by Environment Minister Bojan Kumer. The statements comes after reports of shortages linked to the war in the Middle East.
Fuel prices went slightly up in Slovenia today. The price of regular petrol went by 3 cents to EUR 1.46 per litre, while diesel went up by 6.3 cents to EUR 1.52 per litre. The prices of heating oil also went up.
Around one fifth of the world's oil supply is shipped through the Strait of Hormuz, which is currently closed because of the war.
Meanwhile US President Donald Trump said the war in Iran will be over quickly, causing oil prices to fall. The price of crude oil fell from over $110 a barrel yesterday, to below $90 a barrel today.
