Slovenia recorded a record number of white storks this year.
According to the bird agency DOPPS, 321 pairs nested in the country and gave birth to 800 birds. That is 134 more than last year. It is also the highest number ever recorded.
About 20 storks did not migrate last year and spent the winter in Slovenia.
The population is also growing in most other European countries and in the Middle East and North Africa, where the white stork migrates to.
