Slovenian mountaineer Aleš Česen has conquered a previously unclimbed peak in the Karakorum mountain range.
Together with Austrian climber Lukas Wörle, the two conquered the top of Cherireen Sar mountain, which is 6,224 meters high and located above a remote glacier in Pakistan.
Česen said the greatest challenge was to find a safe enough route and climb it within a short window of good weather.
The climb to the unknown was confirmed by the Apline Association of Slovenia.
Česen and Wörle named their route Chicken Hunt and gave it a D on the French climbing scale.
