Meanwhile, the Slovenian men's basketball team narrowly lost to Estonia in the 1st round of qualifying for the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup, which will be held in Qatar.

The game, which was played in Koper yesterday evening, went to overtime, Estonia prevailing by 94 points to 93.

Slovenia's next qualifier in Group H will be against Sweden in Gothenburg on Monday, followed by the Czech Republic on 26th February next year. Slovenia will have home advantage for that one.
