Under a new system, producers will be able to place the national flag on eligible food items starting on 21st March. The label will indicate that a product has been fully produced, processed, and packaged in Slovenia, or in the case of meat, that the animals were born, raised, and processed in the country. The label will be available for agricultural and food products that are part of various quality schemes, including organic production, protected designation of origin, higher quality products, and the gold standard for animal welfare, as well as certain optional quality labels.
