The government has moved to secure funding for RTV Slovenia. Under the proposal, the public broadcaster's music production will be formally designated as a public service, with funding guaranteed by law. The same will apply to funding for minority programmes.
Under the proposal, the state will provide funding equivalent to 10% of the total collected RTV licence fees for minority language programmes, and 4% for music production.
This means approximately EUR 10 million to minority content and EUR 4 million to music.
RTV Slovenija welcomed the proposal.
