Prime Minister Robert Golob says it is not yet time for Slovenia to join the Board of Peace proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump. He said the initiative’s broad mandate could undermine the international order based on the United Nations Charter. In a statement, Golob warned that weakening the UN framework was the main concern. He said Slovenia could consider taking part only if the mandate were narrowed, for example to post-war reconstruction in Gaza. The prime minister will not attend the signing of the board’s charter in Davos, but said Slovenia would follow developments closely and seek a unified response with other EU member states.
