After a tricky landing in today's finale, Prevc, who had led after the first round, joked that his knees had held up but not his skis, and that some adrenaline had done its job.

He added that today's victory was another one for the 'mosaic' of his career, which includes 22 wins so far. Thirteen of them have come in this season alone.

His margin of victory over Embacher today was 24.8 points. By comparison, yesterday he pipped the Austrian to what would have been his first win at World Cup level by just 1.1 points. Both athletes were in a proverbial league of their own this weekend, finishing well ahead of their rivals on both days.

Prevc now has a lead of 761 points over his nearest challenger, Ryoyu Kobayashi of Japan, with eight competitions left until the end of the season.

He could claim the overall title as early as the next round in Lahti, Finland on Friday.
