The national motorway operator, DARS, opened a new regional traffic control centre in Maribor today.
The centre will oversee and manage traffic for about 250 kilometres of motorways and expressways in northeast Slovenia.
The centre will employ ten traffic controllers to ensure round-the-clock operations.
They will handle traffic accidents and other emergencies, coordinate with maintenance crews and emergency services, manage road closures and traffic issues.
