The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it is providing urgent consular assistance to Slovenian citizens who, due to the situation in the Middle East following the attack on Iran, have remained abroad, and that it is in contact with other EU member states. According to the ministry’s assessment, around 200 Slovenians remain in Dubai awaiting return. Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon stated regarding assistance to Slovenian citizens stranded in the Middle East that the region’s airspace is closed and that it is difficult to predict when it will reopen; however, coordination among EU member states is ongoing. Fajon advises everyone to monitor the travel advisories on the ministry’s website, follow local instructions, consult travel agencies, and above all, remain safe.
